I used to have a pen of permanent decisions. It was a fat, dark purple marker. I used it when I was sub-editing the paper during college. Blue was 'Please consider a change here', red was 'You must change this.', purple was 'I have changed this.'

I have some install work ovr the next fornight, I think I might introduce the phrase "pen of permanent decisions" during it.
