Weekendy goodness
Nov. 25th, 2007 02:58 pmWell the weekend has been most entertaining thus far. After meeting up with
jenna_elise we headed straight to Wagamama Japanese restaurant for lunch. Hilarity ensued in the form of Jen's total inability to use chopsticks, therefore chasing noodles around the plate. This and an unfortunate soup spilling incident caused the woman next to us to mutter audibly to her friend "There are some weird people in here today". Huzzah!! Someone finally noticed. It must also be said that we had our priorities correct as when the waiter came over and realised there was a growing soup slick on the table and asked "do you need more serviettes?" we answered "no, but could we get some more soup?"
Several amusing hours of shopping then ensued, including an amusing incident in TK MAXX, where Jen and I were standing waiting for
shazrasha to try on coats, 2 girls passed us talking, and the only snatch of conversation we caught was:
"I'm not orange", "You are you're terracotta!". And people tell me I'm wierd?
The next task was to head to IKEA to look for a bed. This was most entertaining, especially the loud exclamations of "Do you think it's sturdy enough?" within earshot of small children. Once decisions were finally made we headed down to the warehouse to collect it, but the mattress selected was nowhere to be found. Therefore upon finding similar mattress we pulled one down from the shelf and had a good lie down and bounce to check it. Not the kind of thing you expect to come around the corner and find 2 female twenty somethings doing in the middle of IKEA. Oh well they'll get over it eventually.
Still more trauma occured in the finding and maneuvering of bed parts onto the trolley, which culminated in me declaring to
jenna_elise "You are better than Prozac!!" I have not laughed so hard in a long time.
The evening held chinchilla petting at the abode of
kardrath and
wiserabbit and attempts to photograph the cuties, which was more than a little challenging. Also the inevitable Artificer and general LARP froth occurred until the wee small hours. Naturally the tone lowered somewhat after various beverages...
So after a lazy morning in my sleeping bag, and the lovely
bacony providing yummy pancakes, we headed to the supermarket for supplies and are now enjoying Moulin Rouge whilst awaiting the cookage of roast dinner. Marvelous...
EDIT : Moulin Rouge was followed by Annie, which prompted
kingandy to state "The living room is a girly zone!" before making himself scarce. Must also say that the roast was scrummy!
Quotes of the day 1 : "Can I sniff your pickle?"
2 : "I have a better version", "Oh no it's okay I like the fact that it's a crap version", "But I have a better crap version".
